Description

Kazbegi & Georgian Military Highway Tour This full-day journey takes you along one of the most scenic routes in the Caucasus — the historic Georgian Military Highway — combining breathtaking mountain landscapes, cultural landmarks, and unforgettable views. We start from Tbilisi and head north, with our first stop at the stunning Zhinvali Reservoir, known for its vivid turquoise waters surrounded by forested hills. Soon after, we visit the impressive Ananuri Fortress, a well-preserved medieval complex overlooking the lake, where you’ll discover the history of Georgian noble families and enjoy panoramic views. Continuing the drive, the road becomes more dramatic as we pass through mountain valleys and reach Gudauri, Georgia’s famous ski resort. Here, we stop at the Friendship Monument, offering spectacular views over the Caucasus range. Crossing the Jvari Pass (2,379 m), you’ll experience the true beauty of the high mountains. In Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), we reach the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, located high above the valley. This is one of the most memorable spots in Georgia, with breathtaking views of Mount Kazbek (5,047 m), weather permitting. The tour is flexible and can include stops for local food, short walks, and photo opportunities along the way, making it a perfect mix of nature, history, and authentic Georgian experience.
