Description
Kakheti Wine Region – Bodbe & Sighnaghi Tour This relaxing journey takes you to the heart of Georgia’s wine region — Kakheti, known as the cradle of wine with over 8,000 years of winemaking tradition. Leaving Tbilisi, we head through the countryside toward Bodbe Monastery, one of the most important spiritual sites in Georgia. Surrounded by peaceful gardens and overlooking the beautiful Alazani Valley, the monastery is the resting place of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia. From here, you can also walk down a scenic path to St. Nino’s Spring, a sacred water source believed to have healing properties. We then continue to Sighnaghi, often called the “City of Love.” This charming hilltop town is known for its cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and stunning views over the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. You’ll have time to stroll along parts of the ancient city wall, enjoy the atmosphere, and take in the panoramic scenery. Optional experiences can be arranged upon request, such as visiting a local winery or family cellar to taste traditional Georgian wines made in qvevri and learn about the ancient winemaking methods. Guests may also choose to add activities like a Georgian cooking masterclass. These experiences are available at an additional cost. With a mix of culture, history, gentle walking, and beautiful landscapes, this tour offers a perfect introduction to the warm and authentic spirit of Kakheti.
